Used eye glasses:
Roger Thorpe from the Evangelical Covenant Church is taking used glasses for Congo. He is able to test them for prescription strength and labels them and sends them whenever shipments or trunks are going. The glasses should be reusable--i.e., not too scratched or too unusual a prescription; mostly bifocals and trifocals are difficult as it is hard to find someone in Africa with the exact same problems. Glasses with metal frames that are not sent to Congo are sent to a heavy metal reclaimer where we get money for the gold and silver which helps with shipping costs.
